New Downtown Bar: Stoney's Bar and Grill

Westword Article Here

Stoney's Bar and Grill  opened this weekend in the former Andrew's on Lincoln space, at 1111 Lincoln Street. The sports bar has a rustic Colorado theme, with 150-year-old barn wood lining the walls, antique skis and bicycles hanging from the rafters, and a pond surrounded by trees, rocks and a miniature campsite. Stoney's features Colorado brews and local meat — lamb, beef, elk, venison — in many of its fifteen kinds of sliders.

Stoney is a great bar manager and I wish him well.  You may recognize him from his years as a manager at Govs.  His kickoff party was on Sunday and we stopped in to check it out.  I gotta say, the place looked great on the inside.  I was never a huge fan of Andrew's, so I was a little skeptical.  But Stoney did a great job revamping the interior.  We tried the wings and they were fantastic.  I plan on going back to try the sliders, which are his specialty.  Happy Hour had 2 for 1 just about everything.

With 17 local beers on tap, Stoney's plant to host sports during the day on one of the many flat screen TVs and live music on the weekends on the huge stage.

All in all, a good new spot downtown, definitely check it out.

Oh yeah, and they have Skeeball!
